SPRING CURRICULUM

Here are some of the fabulous things we have been doing this term.

BUDDHIST VISIT

Two practicing Buddhists visited the school to give us a fascinating talk about their religion. Pupils were treated to (and joined in with) some chanting, were told stories and played some of the musical instruments brought in.

E-SAFETY SESSION

At Thrunscoe, we take keeping pupils safe online very seriously. E-Safety is an integral part of our computing curriculum. This half term, we have been focusing on the impact of social media on people's lives and the problems it can create.

BUCKET DRUMMING

Poplar Class have been participating in bucket drumming sessions with Miss Miller. Pupils have learnt several grooves and have performed to other classes.

OUR CLASS JIGSAW

As part of children's wellbeing week, we created a class jigsaw for our wellbeing display. All pupils had to write one positive comment about each other and about the class staff members. Each jigsaw piece was then put together, creating the finished wellbeing jigsaw.

NATURAL DISASTERS TOPIC

Pupils were challenged to research various natural disasters then create a reference book for the school library. Earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes and tornadoes were just some of the natural disasters contained in the books.

SPANISH

The Spanish topics covered this term include food, the human body and animals. Spanish is a real favourite in Poplar Class and children are speaking the language much more fluently now.
