World Book Day 2018

Even though the snow made us a week late for World Book Day, we enjoyed looking at the author Julia Donaldson. We have completed lots of tasks based on her famous stories: Stick Man, The Gruffalo, The Snail and the Whale and Superworm.

Take a look at what we did...

Even though we couldn't come to school for 2 days because of the snow - we mangaed to get here on Friday and enjoyed a full day of learning, playing in the snow and even some hot chocolate with biscuits.

This term is all about 'Discovery'.

The children asked to learn about different explorers and where they had been to and what they had found.

We have looked at Scott of the Antarctic and Captain Cook. We will be exploring space next half term and thinking what it must have been like to be Major Tim Peake and Neil Armstrong.

Classroom in the Woods

We had a fabulous time hunting for snails, creating a forest whale and playing in the rain and mud.

We tried to cook bread on the campfire but Mrs Legget's doughballs were a little too big but we still enjoyed trying.

The Christening Day

We had a wonderful morning celebrating the baptism of baby Jane Rose at St. Peter's Church.

The children learned all about the service, chose parents and Godparents and then enjoyed a party after making Christening cards.

We would like to say a big thank you to St Peter's church for helping us understand this important event and showing us around your beautiful church. The children thoroughly enjoyed it!
