Beautiful Handwriting

We practice our handwriting everyday to make it beautiful.

Here are some examples of our writing, including our letters to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of the new Prince Louis.

The Snail and the Whale

This term our main story is Julia Donaldson's The Snail and The Whale.

We have discussed what we think the story might be about, who the characters are, what they are doing and what might happen to them. We have been developing our writing skills by labelling, writing about our favourite part, mapping the story and developing our describing skills.

This half term we are reading the story of Superworm by Julia Donaldson.

Keep watch of how our working wall develops a we learn more about the story and start writing some stories of our own.

We also have been enjoying some cross curricular work with Superworm - take a look at our mud pots!

Roald Dahl Day

To celebrate Roald Dahl's birthday, we came dressed up as some of his famous book and poem characters. If we didn't want to dress up we came in his favourite colour of yellow.

We had a lovely morning writing and drawing about our clothes, looking at Roald Dahl's books and making Roly Poly Birds.
